Vipp 15 Rubbish Kitchen Pedal Bin
Pedal bin 14L / 4 gal
The Vipp15 pedal bin is a medium-sized trash can for the kitchen, office, or bathroom. Rubbish is a renewable take on the original pedal bin in 75% recycled materials. Wood leftovers from Vipp’s tabletop manufacturing and plastic waste is reprocessed and transformed into a new Vipp signature fibre material shaping the body of the bin. To minimize the use of steel, the Rubbish bin’s inner compartment is fitted with a metal ring for the mounting of bin liners replacing the standard galvanized inner bin.
"By reusing industrial plastic waste and leftovers from our wood production, we wrap the Vipp bin in recycled materials, ready to take your sorted trash for years to come. And at some point, be handed over to the next generation.”
Each Rubbish bin exchanges 3.7 kg of steel with plastic and sawdust otherwise burnt in a trash burning facility. Recycling the wood means that CO2 are stored in the product rather than released into the atmosphere.
Vipp fiber material made from waste plastic and sawdust.

Holger Nielsen
Vipp is founded in 1939 by Holger Nielsen. Born in 1915 in the small Danish town of Randers, Holger trains as a metal spinner. Holger Nielsen makes the leap into business at the age of only 17 and almost by coincidence. It all begins one spring Sunday in May 1931 when he makes his usual visit to the local stadium to support his favorite football team. Fate has it that his ticket is drawn in a raffle, and he wins a car. Holger loves cars, but as he has no driver's license, he decides to sell the car and invest the money in a metal turning lathe. This marks the birth of Holger Nielsen's metal factory where, a few years later, he produces the very product that will go on to bring him fame: the Vipp pedal bin.
