NUMBER 2 Roller Ball Origin: U.S.A. Material: Hand applied lacquer over brass. German components. The #2 (Number 2) Pen, designed by Adrian Olabuenaga, comes from ACME Studio’s Collezione Materiali Pens. The exterior is designed to resemble a classic wood case pencil – pink eraser, silver ferrule, yellow body, and wood colored cone. “ACME WRITING TOOLS” is on the side in a standout green, and a black “2” logo completes the pen. The black Schmidt refill propels and retracts with a twist of the fake eraser. It is presented in an ACME vinyl pouch – which includes instructions and product info. ADRIAN OLABUENAGA was born in 1955 in Buenos Aires, Argentina and educated in Los Angeles, California. Raised with an architectural background, he has, from a young age, been inspired by architecture, design and art. His jewellery designs were included in the original Memphis Designers for ACME, as suggested by Ettore Sottsass. Presently living in Maui, Hawaii, he continues to design and collaborate with the best in their respective fields. ACME Writing Tools equipped with roller ball components use German manufactured Schmidt ink refills. (Fine point, non-drying).
