Designed: 1999 “Blueprint” Roller Ball Pen Origin: U.S.A. Material: Hand applied lacquer over brass. CONSTANTIN BOYM, was born in Moscow, Russia in 1955, where he graduated from Moscow Architectural Institute. In 1984-85, he earned a Master?s degree in design from Domus Academy in Milan. In 1986, he established Boym Design Studio in New York City. His studio?s designs include tableware for Alessi and Authentics, watches for Swatch, and exhibition installations for many American museums, including Cooper-Hewitt, and National Design Museum in New York. In 1998, Boym Design Studio started a three-year-long catalogue project ?Souvenirs for the End of the Century?, to be culminated in the end of the year 2000. Boym teaches at Parsons School of Design in New York, where he is a coordinator of the Product Design department. ACME Writing Tools equipped with roller ball components use German manufactured Schmidt ink refills. (Fine point, non-drying). Packaged in a stylish presentation case. Small bio card attached to the pen, providing biographical information about each pen’s designer.

ACME Studio Standard Ballpoint Pen BLUEPRINT Constantin Boym

“Blueprint” Ballpoint Pen, a design by Constantin Boym, comes from ACME Studio’s Standard Ballpoint Pens.

The design has a blueprint-style finish of dark blue and white dimension markings with chrome accents. The pen comes with one black ballpoint refill. Artist’s signature is engraved on the cap band and “ACME” is on the clip. The pen is presented in a ACME metal box with a black sleeve and ACME literature.

CONSTANTIN BOYM
Constantin Boym was born in Moscow, Russia in 1955, where he graduated from Moscow Architectural Institute. In 1984-85 he earned a Master’s degree in Design from Domus Academy in Milan. In 1986 he founded Boym Partners Inc in New York. Together with Laurene Leon Boym, he was a winner of the National Design Award in 2009. Boym Partners bring a critical, experimental approach to a range of products that infuse humor and wit into the everyday. Boym Partners’ work is included in the permanent collections of many design museums, including The Museum of Modern Art in New York.
