Taking inspiration from his native Finland’s landscape, design pioneer Alvar Aalto combined simple design with a craftsman’s expertise to create iconic home design pieces that are functional and sculptural.

When Aalto introduced the fluid wave shape for Iittala, it won the 1937 Paris World Fair. In the decades since, it has become a timeless symbol of Scandinavian interior design. Each precious crystal bowl is first mouthblown. Then pieces are hand cut before going through several polishings at the Iittala Glass Factory. The clear Aalto bowl is perfect for serving dry foods like nuts and candies, home decor or as a gift.
