Kartell Book Holder BOOKWORM 17 Bookends

The Bookworm bookcase designed by Ron Arad for Kartell in 1994 can be considered one of the most revolutionary design products on an industrial scale. Using extrusion technology, the object assumes the desired shape and guarantees sturdiness as well as functionality. The bookcase comes in three different lengths, 320, 520 and 820 cm with 7, 11 and 18 bookend supports.

It is advisable to attach the bookcase in accordance with the curved lines of its shape to maintain the tension of the material and to increase its load capacity. Before attaching to the wall, it is advisable to mount the bookends which can be positioned anywhere above or below the shelf. Sketch the desired shape on the wall and only then proceed to attach the bookcase to the wall.

Bookworm combines flexibility and high strength allowing a load of about 10 kg per support

Material: batch dyed flame retardant PVC

Dimensions :  8.2m (17 bookends).

Depth : 20cm

About the brand

Kartell is a renowned Italian design brand that has established itself as a global leader in contemporary furniture and home accessories. Founded in 1949 by Giulio Castelli, the company has been at the forefront of innovative design, combining creativity, technology, and functionality to produce iconic products.

One of Kartell's distinguishing features is its pioneering use of plastic materials in furniture production. The brand revolutionized the industry by elevating plastic from being considered a cheap and disposable material to a sophisticated and versatile medium for design. Kartell's commitment to pushing the boundaries of what is possible with plastic has resulted in the creation of stunning and durable pieces that are both aesthetically pleasing and functional.

Kartell collaborates with internationally renowned designers and architects, such as Philippe Starck, Patricia Urquiola, and Ron Arad, to create unique and timeless designs. These partnerships have led to the development of iconic pieces like the Louis Ghost Chair, the Componibili storage system, and the Masters Chair, which have become symbols of contemporary design.

In addition to furniture, Kartell offers a wide range of home accessories, lighting fixtures, and lifestyle products. Their product portfolio encompasses a diverse array of items, from tables and chairs to lamps, vases, and kitchenware. Each product reflects Kartell's commitment to innovation, quality craftsmanship, and a distinctive aesthetic that combines simplicity, elegance, and functionality.

With its commitment to sustainable practices, Kartell also prioritizes environmental responsibility. The company employs eco-friendly production techniques and uses recyclable materials, ensuring that their products have a minimal impact on the planet.
