Kay Bojesen Monkey 70th Anniversary Ltd Ed
The new Anniversary Monkey is both a celebration and a standpoint. A celebration that this year is 70 years ago, Kay Bojesen cut the first smiling lines for the iconic Abe. And a position because the Jubilee Saber is born out of a principle of responsibility in craftsmanship and design. The new family member is created from residual wood and therefore there can be variation of the types of wood: teak, walnut, oak, ash, maple, limba, mahogany and more. We can not guarantee which types of wood each of the monkeys is produced in due to limited supply of residual wood. In this way, it gives new life to wood through craftsmanship and design.
The result is a monkey that unites both heritage, types of wood and shades – a real collector’s item. And that is why each Anniversary monkey has its very own unique expression and history. The first Abe saw the light of day in 1951 – and we produce the Monkey in the same way today as then. Every single figure is created by hand. Through the smiling lines and unique shapes, Kay Bojesen brings wood to life through generations.
The anniversary monkey is a special edition of the iconic monkey made from leftover wood. The special edition has a 70-year anniversary stamp on the paw and comes in a special anniversary box of wood in 2021 in limited numbers.
