Kay Bojesen was passionate about anything that brings joy to children and childlike spirits. Back in 1952, he created his friendly Ursula Bear inspired by a young bear, which a keeper from Copenhagen Zoo and his wife were looking after in their home. More than 65 years later, in April 2019 the beautiful Panda was launched to celebrate Copenhagen Zoo’s new, ground-breaking Panda House. Look forward to the new Panda Medium, which is 25 cm high. The Panda Medium is made of painted FSC®-certified beech.

Kay Bojesen is one of the big Danish designers. He was able to turn wood into original stories like no other. He had a knack for bringing the wood to life. Or as he put it: “Making the line smile”. And the lines certainly smile in each of the Wooden Animals – which have all become iconic.
