ArchitectMade Brandy Glass Spring by Jorn Utzon
Designed by one of Denmark’s most renowned architects, Jørn Utzon, these mouth-blown glasses are inspired by pure materials and fluid space. Utzon once said, “The greatest importance of the glass is the space within it.”Be it cognac, cocktails or water, Spring is more than a glass, it is a sculptural vessel for your beverage.
Designed: 1949
Origin: Denmark
In 1949 on a study trip to New York Jorn Utzon met Frank Lloyd Wright. During a group discussion Wright held up an empty glass and asked what is the most important with this glass? Utzon replied: "The greatest importance of a glass is the space within." The same year Utzon made the drawings for the SPRING glass. Taking a sip from SPRING you clearly understand Utzons reasoning. It actually feels like drinking from a clear mountain spring. The glass is handmade in the highest quality of glass. To Utzon the drawing and form giving of great and small buildings, furniture, cutlery or glasses are all a process for an architect loving his trade. It is all about planning, combining and refining within certain criteria. SPRING is stackable and dishwasher proof. The multi functional SPRING glasses can be used for serving sophisticated cocktails, ice water and even cognac.
