The Pilastro stool is part of the "Kartell goes Sottsass - A Tribute to Memphis" collection, launched in 2015 in homage to design guru Ettore Sottsass. Pilastro, which comes in five opaque tones (red, lilac, purple, green and black), stands out for its architectural lines and is made from mass-coloured thermoplastic technopolymer.

The Designer: Ettore Sottsass (14 September 1917 – 31 December 2007) was an Italian architect and designer during the 20th century. His body of work included furniture, jewellery, glass, lighting, home objects and office machine design, as well as many buildings and interiors. He founded the Memphis Group in 1980 and the Sottsass Associati. It works for major companies like Apple, Philips, Siemens, Zanotta, Fiat and Alessi.
