Vipp

“Good design never goes out of fashion”, Holger used to say. Time has proven him right; the Vipp bin has only been marginally improved since it saw the light of day back in 1939. Today the bin is internationally recognised as a design classic, and in November 2009 it was accepted into the architecture and design collection of The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.

Vipp was born out of a need for functional products in the professional market. Since Holger Nielsen made the first Vipp pedal bin for his wife’s hair salon in 1939, Vipp has been making industrial design for the home. The quality of a Vipp product is measured by its long-term ability to provide better every day experiences, and every new Vipp product is founded in the joy inherent in its use day after day for many years. Therefore, only one is made of each Vipp product; made to last for at least as long as the pedal bin from 1939.
